TeDi Jansen :: Shepherdess and Soap Maker
I have always loved farms. And the people who live and work on them. I know it's incredibly hard work. I hear the stories. I see the struggles. I realize it is a life with a barrage of ups and downs. Yet every time I step foot on a farm a sense of euphoria takes over and, with it, an astounding sense of awe and awareness that farmers create things. From the ground. From animals. From their hands. From love.
That is the exact feeling I got when spending time with TeDi Jansen at Small Acre Farm, the 10-acre plot of land she lives and works on with her family in Northern Colorado. In addition to TeDi and her family, Small Acre Farm is also home to three dogs, two cats, three pigs, a small herd of sheep, two llamas, and eight goats. It was the goats we spent the most time with the day I visited TeDi. The day she showed me how to make goat milk soap. And the day I fell in love with farms and their people yet again.
